Atmosphere has shared two new singles, “Yearning” and “Daley,” from the upcoming album, Jestures, releasing on September 19th.
On “Yearning," Atmosphere taps into the universal ache for belonging, pairing Slug’s reflective verses with an evocative chorus by Yoni Wolf (of WHY?). Set against a lush sonic palette from producer Ant that weaves melodic piano keys, harp and harmonica though sturdy, measured drums, the song drifts between nostalgia and vulnerability. Wolf’s chorus crystallizes the track's emotional core—the restless, unshakable desire for something just out of reach—while Slug's lyrics trace the tension between isolation and the communal power of art, capturing the push and pull of searching for validation while finding solace in music itself. The result is a dreamy yet grounded meditation on longing for attention, and the redemptive force of human connection.
"Yearning," is accompanied by a new music video directed by Evidence, showcasing Slug amid the urban backdrop of Minneapolis, MN, a fitting scene that complements the song's mood.
